Ah, the all-important, sometimes-dreaded rules. (Don't worry, I think we all can agree to these.)
I have put these rules into list form under catagories. Read them carefully, and ALL of them!
AUTHORITY RULES:
- Ladies and gentlemen, I have discovered through some excellent examples that we all need to know not only the rules - but the authoritative structure of this. *Sigh*, so I shall begin from the, well, beginning.
As I am the creator of this RP board, as well as its designer, moderator, administrator - and otherwords THE GODDESS of Acadia, MY WORD IS LAW. When you are warned about illiteracy, or anything else - either by me or by a global moderator, YOU OBEY. Below I am posting the ranks and what they entail. Generally, even though all administrators have the same "title" - if you see "Dracowulf" above it, then you better listen closer.
ME - I am in charge of accepting or denying ALL characters. No character may be played with (I know that sounds weird) until I MYSELF HAVE CLEARED IT. If I am for some reason unable to be on the computer, I shall leave another trustworthy administrator to do that job. I shall be the main one to hand out warnings if need be. I hate having to do that, but if I find someone repeatedly being illiterate, without any sort of effort toward improvement, I reserve the right to kick that person out. I am also responsible for ALL category and board construction.
Administrator - any administrators I appoint shall act mainly as moderators. Their word is also law, as they are appointed by me. They are not allowed to make any changes as far as new categories, boards, skins ect. without my permission. Administrators will be the keepers of the passwords to any boards that I feel need to be locked.
Global Moderator - If a global moderator gives you a warning, listen. They report to me. They are in charge of moderating threads and keeping users in line with the rules.
Moderator - A moderator is someone I believe knows the rules well enough to gently enforce them. Respect them, and listen to their guidance.
General Rules
- You may not begin to role play until your character has been accepted by ME.
- Literacy is a MUST here. If you can't be literate, with at least moderately good spelling and mostly correct grammar and punctuation - then this is not the place for you. Absolutely NO chatspeak in RP posts! Ooc posts in chatspeak are okay.
- Signatures must be kept within a 200 word limit, and a 200x200 picture size maximum will be enforced. Just remember "200" and you'll be fine.
- As far as fights go: there are two kinds. "Scheduled" and "Unscheduled". Scheduled fights are fights between males for a female or between two creatures for position. The winner of the mating fight gets the girl, the winner of the rank fight gets the higher ranking member's place. Unscheduled fights, like an argument, can take place in the board where they started, while scheduled fights must take place in the battle grounds.
- ABSOLUTELY NO ONE-LINERS! THE ONLY TIME A ONE LINER WILL BE PERMITTED IS IN OOC! Also, don't post a really short message and then something such as "lol" directly after. That is so irritating. If you just have to add that "lol", MODIFY YOUR PREVIOUS POST. Don't waste all the space, please.
- I will enforce a no more than a limit of five for the characters you can play. It will get confusing if you have more! Staff members are allowed to have more than five, BUT you must clear it with me first!
- You must use some sort of out of character message for (obviously) out of character messages within a role play. I normally use ((-)), but you can use |-| or ooc- then bic-.
- NO regular members can kill another member's character unless the owner of the character being killed has made it clear it is okay. Otherwise, only Staff can kill as needed - BUT, staff can only kill when provoked.
- Having a mate is not restricted, BUT you MUST ask to actually mate, I don't want you all running around making babies faster than you can keep up with them.
Wulf Rules
- Wulf society is run like a wolf pack, so your ranks will be set accordingly as alpha, beta, gamma, delta and omega. After those are other special jobs such as hunter, spy, pup-sitter, and warrior.
- To be a wulf, you don't have to have wings or powers, but it may help.
- There are four basic types of wulves - the Dracowulf, Demonwulf, Angelwulf, and Wulf. Dracowulves are a mix of dragon and wulf. Demonwulves are demonic wulves, they are basically the undead of wulves. Angelwulves have feathered wings. Wulves are basic, no wings, but have powers. Wulves of all species are large - most about the size of the bigest war horses, some bigger.
Dragon Rules
- Dragon society is set up differently than most - there is an Elder, who is like the alpha, his mate, then other members of their group. Dragons are a society of wisdom and war, so their society is set up as follows: Elder, Master, Teacher, Student, Young One, Hatchling. They also have warriors, spies, and nest sitters.
- Your dragon needs to be realistic - wings, fire, and scales are staples of the dragon breed. You can also be a mamilian dragon - a dragon that is more like a cross between a dragon and another breed. BUT - if you have a dracowulf or other variety that might fit in both the wulf and the dragon categories for example, put them not in the dragon species but their base type.
Gryphon Rules
- Gryphons are typically a cross between some animal and a bird of prey, and I hold that rule to the gryphons here. You may have any combination of mammilian creature and a bird of prey such as an eagle or falcon.
- Gryphon society is structured off of warriors, which is evident, I suppose. Rank is as follows: King, Master Knight, Kinight, Squire, Page, Hatchling. They also have roles of nest sitter and spy.
Equine Rules
- All creatures in the equine category need to be at least remotely equine. They can have horns, wings, spikes, and even paws and fangs instead of hooves and blunt teeth.
- Equine society is set up as follows: Lord/Lady, Lead, Council, Follower, Straggler. They also have nurses, spies, and official warriors.
I think that is about it. I will update the rules when I feel they need to be, so check them once a week for alterations. Thanks for reading them - and follow them!
