((Erm...You can't really 'fly up' to him since he is in the cave under an overhang. I noticed that you edited Angel's profile, but make sure that whenever you edit your character's profile, that Dracowulf has accepted that. Just thought I'd clear things up.))
Phadyn nodded at the small gryphon in acknowledgement to what he said, then she lifted her head back up. Her eyes followed him, for she was pretty curious of this creature, like many others here. As Flyt rummaged through his bag, her eyes set upon his three claw marks on his flank. What happened to him?, she thought to herself. She then detered her attention to the odd necklace that he pulled out. "Unbreakable?", she whispered softly to no one in particular.

((I just got on really quickly to say that I'm going on vacation for spring break (two weeks). I may be able to get on sometimes but don't count on it. EDIT: I'm at my grandmother's house now. I may be able to get online once a day/every other day, but if I do get on, I won't be able to make my posts very long.))
Flyt nodded to Angel. "Hello Angel. My name is Flyt," he stated courteously. He continued to run the chain of his necklace through his front claws, causing the sun to glint at strange angles from the silver feather. It seemed to act somewhat like a prism, since the light that reflected from the feather shone in very subtle blues, greens, and purples.

"Hmm," the gryphon said. "May I hold it?" The light played off of it very elegantly. It seemed to be better than even gryphon-make. The feather was probably dragon-made, commissioned for a king of gryphons, or something. The way it sparkled seemed to attest that it was magical, too. Definitely dragon-made. Of course, there was no way to know until he had tested it himself.
Dragon-made artifacts were extremely rare, and Feisian didn't like to think how Flyt had procured such an item. Firmly shutting images of grand theft necklace out of his mind, he concentrated on trying to identify the necklace. Dragon-made wasn't enough information to go by...

"Sure," answered Flyt, handing the necklace over. He nodded at the sleeping gryphon who had snapped his beak, nervously aware of the others looking at him. "I'm afraid that that's all I can tell you about the necklace. None of the other stuff that I have is similar. It all mainly curiosities that I... find in various places."

Kyler watched and listened to the discussion, and looked at the dangling necklace. He thought of the few species that could construct such items - Gryphons, Dragons, Wulves, and some two-legged species. He watched it glisten in the dim light and concluded that something that was "indestructable", shiny, and peculiar as the necklace could not have been made by any Gryphon. And Kyler knew the works of the two-leggeds to be less than desireable. He thought about the Wulves - skilled in most things, but always too preocupied by hunt and pack to really spend time creating anything but spirit stones, havoc, and meyham. Kyler smiled softly at the thought of Wulves - those creatures intrigued him very much. In a round-about way, Kyler too came to the conclusion of the necklace being of Dragon make - but obviously not very quickly. He had been so wrapped up in thinking about it that he did not realize how much time had passed. He shook his feathers and watched as Flyt handed the necklace to Feisian.

((Gack, sorry, all. 'S been a crazy week, that's for sure.))
Feisian accepted the metal feather and he turned it over in his talons. Definitely not two-legger make. He snorted softly. Those two-leggers! Always thinking that they owned Acadia. Nothing was safe from the pillaging menaces. He tapped it gently with a claw. Nothing happened. Frowning, he muttered something under his breath and tried again. An electric blue spark flared up, but that could have just been the clash of metal and talon. The gryphon put on a look of fierce concentration, as though willing the feather to reveal its secrets, and tapped it once more. There was a larger flash, an audible crack like a firelog exploding, and Feisian fell over, his spectacles knocked askew and a look of intense pain on his face.

Kyler's nerves gave an enormous jerk at the sound of the "feather". He sprang to his feet, at first unsure what had happened. His eyes then fell to the stricken Feisian. "Feisian!" Kyler shreed as he leapt to the wise gryphon's side. He was unsure what to do, unsure what magic might be coursing through the gryphon's body at that very moment, unsure what was safe or unsafe to do. He layed a gentle hand upon the gryphon's forehead, and closed his eyes deeply.
Kyler's mind wandered into Feisian's as he tried to connect and help if possible. He could not be sure what was going on, or if there were any dangers to his own body and soul by doing this - but it was his duty.

Flyt leapt up as Fesian fell back. He ran to Fesian's side, but stayed back a little ways from Kyler as the gryphon layed his talond on the older gryphon's forehead. Since he was fairly unfamiliar with magic, he didn't think he could defend himself from any more explosions, and he was a lot more likely to be hurt than one of the larger gryphons.
"Gah," he muttered, using one of his favorite expressions, "this is all my fault." He picked the feather from the ground, trying hard not to cause it to explode again. The feather appeared to be undamaged and wasn't even warm, although all that remained of the chain was a few beads of metal. He set it down again carefully on a small rock and sat to watch Kyler and Fesian doing... whatever it was they were doing.

Feisian's mind was clouded in a haze of pain, but not so much as to completely obliterate the sensation of Kyler entering it. He shook his soul-form's head, which peculiarly still bore glasses. Get out, he thought. It's nothing, I can handle it, let me wake. He didn't want Kyler in his head when he returned to full consciousness. Sometimes it was hard enough with only one gryphon in his mind, and he was sure that without the proper warding, two would drive him, and possibly Kyler, insane.
((Lazy post, sorry!))

Kyler jerked out, not wanting to act contrary to the wishes of someone so wise and learned as Feisian. He raised his hand from Feisian's forehead, and sat back, watching and waiting. In truth, he was still worried about his friend - as he had come to think of him. He considered all in this tribe his friends and comrades - and he did not want to lose a single one of them. He valued the lives of all creatures - from his friends to his enemies. He hated the needless loss of life.

Feisian cracked open a single blue eye and pushed himself upright with his left foreleg. "Shock's all it was, take more'n a little protection spell t' kill me," he muttered shakily, but the gratitude for Kyler's attempt at help shone in his eyes. He rubbed his forehead, feeling a headache coming on. "Nasty spell, that," he said to Flyt nonchalantly. "If I had pushed any harder, I doubt I'd be talking to you right now." He closed his eyes. Right now, light hurt. "Is there any water around that wouldn't require me to fly to it? I don't think I trust myself on my wings right now."

Kyler sighed with relief. Way too much trouble for his first day. He patted Fesian gently on the back, his way of welcoming him back into "the land of the living". Kyler was relieved that there was something he could do - at the sound of the word "water", he smiled slightly. He spread his right talons evenly on the rough ground and closed his eyes momentarily. All the water that resided in the room gradually collected in a small pool beneath Kyler's claw. It was cool and clear, filtered by the stone of the newly made cave. "Drink friend" Kyler said with a smile. "Good to see you as good as you are."

Feisian leaned down and drained the small pool dry. "That's better," he said, sitting back down. "And thank you." He turned to Flyt and eyed him critically. "So, where exactly did you find that necklace, anyway? I take it that something like that wouldn't just be lying around where anyone could pick it up." He flicked one of the half-melted beads of silver with his claw, making a pinging noise as it ricocheted off the far wall of the cave.

Flyt shifted nervously. "Well...," he began, clearing his throat, "I found it... in a cave. To be more precise, a dragon's cave. When the dragon was away." Flyt remembered that day clearly. He had scouted out that cave for weeks, just to be careful, and had eventually gone in when the dragon was out on a routine hunting trip. He was drawn to the necklace from the beginning, but once he had lifted the strangely shining feather from its hook on the cave wall, an alarm sounded, startling him and making him tumble down a pile of gems.
He managed to exit the cave just in time to see the cave's inhabitant bearing down on him, roaring loud enough to make the very stalactites hanging from the cave's roof shake. Flyt remembered very little of that wild chase, but it had ended with him floating in a lake with three huge claw marks on his flank and a few singed and waterlogged feathers - and the undamaged necklace around his neck. He had decided that day to never steal again from any other creature.
Flyt came back to the present and realized that the others were staring at him strangely and watching him rub his scars with one of his taloned feet.He set his foot down hurriedly. "Um... I really don't do that kind of stuff anymore, though," he continued, "I think I've learned my lesson."

Kyler grunted, "With good cause." He settled himself down and patted both Feisian and Flyt - "Let us try to put this behind us - All at least seems to be well for the time being, and I would prefer that it stays that way." Kyler removed his hands from them and scratched his own head in bewilderment. He was not a learned creature, though he did love to learn. He knew and understood only a little of the world of magic.

"Well...," said Flyt, after reassuring himself that his new friends weren't uncomfortable with him being a thief - a former thief, he reminded himself. "did you find out anything about the necklace? Is it some kind of strange magical artifact or something? Or is it just a regular necklace except for a strange glow?" Not that that's likely, he said to himself, looking at the melted remains of the chain from which the necklace had once hung.

"If I was a gambler, which I'm not, I'd place my gold on strange magical artifact," he said. "Dragon-made, with dragon-woven protective spells. That's an object of great power you have there, Flyt. I wouldn't toy with it if I were you."
Feisian nodded at Kyler's suggestion. "A wise idea. After all, there was no permanent harm done, was there?" He smiled.

Dragons sparked the curiosity of Kyler, as they were a species far-removed from his old home in the frigid north. He did not want to seem nieve (SP?), but the question was nagging. "What know you of dragons, Feisian? They are a species of great wonder and confusion to me, for I know little of them. The sort of creatures that could and would create something such as that necklace with heaven knows what purpose must be beings of great power." That was pretty much all Kyler knew about dragons. Other than that he knew that they were big, scaly, and often breathed fire.
